http://bookins.com/ Bookins.com is a a book trade/recycling site where you can do exactly that: trade books with other members (membership is free!). Shipping, which is a flat fee of $3.99, is the only price you pay. You can even print your postage from their website.

http://betterworld.com/ Betterworld.com is also a used book site that offers the advantage of free shipping. All proceeds from the sale of the books on Betterworld.com fund literacy programs throughout the world.

http://www.freecycle.org/ Freecycle.com is a site that allows you to search for various items that people are giving away for free. Almost everything is in workable order. It is a site that is just trying to make a difference by keeping stuff out of the landfills. Membership is free, and their are plenty of treasures available to those who take the time to search.
